Raag Jhinjhoti belongs to the Khamaj Thaat and has influenced several Bollywood songs. The equivalent scale in Western music is the Mixolydian scale.

The intervals in this scale after the Tonic note are Major 2nd, Major 3rd, Perfect 4th, Perfect 5th, Major 6th and Minor 7th.  The Swars are Sa, Re, Ga, ma, Pa, Dha, ni – all Shuddh except ni.

The most common set of chords for songs based on this family are I Major, IV Major and bVII Major. So if your Tonic or Sa is A, the scale will have the notes A, B, C#, D, E, F#, G and the you can use A Major (A, C#, E), D Major (D, F#, A) and G Major (G, B, D) to cover the entire song.
